Starting from Le Peuty, this magnificent hike takes you through mountain pastures and along mountain paths towards the Col de Balme. After a steady climb, the Col de Balme mountain refuge is the ideal place to stop for a refreshing drink or a hearty meal to reward your efforts, whilst enjoying an exceptional panoramic view of the Mont Blanc massif. From the pass, a round trip to the Croix de Fer offers one of the region’s finest vantage points, with spectacular views over the Trient Valley and the surrounding peaks. The route then continues its loop via Les Tseppes, through unspoilt alpine landscapes, amongst high-altitude pastures and vast horizons. Combining unspoilt nature, magnificent panoramas and a mountain atmosphere, this hike is an invitation to discover all the beauty of the Trient Valley. The loop can also be walked in the opposite direction for an equally enjoyable experience.
