Concert of Orthodox Christmas carols by candlelight

Experience a moment of suspended time and light as Christmas approaches. The Yaroslavl choir, a Neuchâtel ensemble specialising in Orthodox singing, invites you to an evening of sacred and popular songs performed by candlelight.

These Advent and Nativity songs, inherited from the traditions of Ukraine, Romania, Greece, Serbia and Russia, are performed by 24 choristers, including several professionals. Their a cappella interpretation will take you on a journey to the heart of sacred Eastern singing, combining gentle fervour, contemplation and human warmth.

The evening will be enriched by the oriental sounds of percussionist François Clavel, adding a touch of poetry and exoticism to this immersive experience.

Yaroslavl Choir

Founded in 2008, the Yaroslavl Choir has built a solid reputation in Switzerland and abroad thanks to its faithful and sensitive interpretation of Orthodox vocal traditions. It has performed at numerous festivals, abbeys and cathedrals, and has four recordings to its credit.
